Every new hire is assigned a manager and a mentor where their goal is to set you up for success! They will both collaborate together and make sure you understand what success looks like at Finch and help you stay on track. Your success is our team’s success.
Your mentor will be your default go-to person to provide guidance through your work and help you get acclimated to the team. You’ll get the opportunity to meet them on your first day and they’ll schedule weekly syncs. For your first week they’ll sync with you more frequently.
Your manager is the one directly responsible for your success. They’ll ensure you are appropriately setup in your team, provide feedback to up level your work, collect and aggregate feedback, hold honest conversations, and be a source of support.
While your manager and mentor will proactively provide mentorship, please keep in mind that it’s also your responsibility to be proactive yourself. People who succeed take action to drive their own success rather than behaving passively.
We also recognize that it’s understandably difficult for new folks to navigate challenges around confidence and imposter syndrome— we’ve all been there. If you’re ever uncertain about how you’re doing, we encourage you to reach out whether it’s your manager, mentor, or other folks you work closely with. Everyone here just wants to build birbs and see you succeed.
