Our product designers are passionate about creating delightful experiences to make daily self-care a norm, and we’re looking for similarly passionate folks who can thrive in our fast-paced startup environment!
To be transparent about our interview loop and help setup candidates for success, this outlines what to expect where there will be opportunities to meet our cofounders, designers, and cross-functional teammates.
After reviewing portfolios, our team will reach out to schedule an introductory info chat for candidates who would be moving forward. We’ll discuss your background, what you’re looking for in your next role, and any questions you have about the team. If it feels like there’s a mutual fit, we’ll kick off the official interview loop with you!
Our interviews give candidates the opportunity to demonstrate how they think and work as designers. We’re building a team of senior+ designers, those who push the boundaries on playfulness, visuals, and nuanced product challenges. These interviews will dive into the design skills and cultural values that are important at Finch. As we’re a remote team, all interviews will be conducted virtually over Google Meets. There is time reserved for questions at the end of each interview.
This is an interview with our cofounder Steph who oversees product and design at Finch. Candidates brainstorm and whiteboard with an emphasis on product-thinking skills. This helps both parties understand what it’s like to navigate product tradeoffs and decisions together.
Time: 1 hr
Candidates will prepare a ~15 min virtual presentation that highlights relevant work with remaining time for Q&A. We recommend choosing 2-3 case studies, ideally with mobile consumer product challenges if possible. Be concise and let your product designs speak for themselves.
Candidates can choose the presentation format (e.g., Google Slides, Figma) for diving into the work.
Time: up to 45 mins (~15 min candidate presentation, 15 min Q&A, remaining time to ask questions)
